This week we have the honor of hosting Kyle Chaput from McAllen TX as a visiting artist at WSU. This week he is working on a litho stone that he prepped and is drawing on. The edition is part of his new series of print work.

Beauvais Lyons in Wichita
Shockpress #printweek had the honor of hosting Beauvais Lyons at Wichita State University this past week. I am grateful for having met Beauvais, really a great person and print artist to work with. Check out his work and a new series of circus prints.
Below is the final print image by Beauvais Lyons.

Printmaking Is Imaginative at the WAM
Excited about taking part in curating work for a new print exhibition Printmaking Is Imaginative in one of the galleries at the Wichita Art Museum, Wichita KS. Thanks to the opportunity and organization of Lisa Volpe, museum curator. The show will be on view in the Vollmer Gallery from March 11 through November 6, 2016
“This first exhibition in the series, Printmaking is Imaginative, explores artists’ use of varied techniques to create vivid, absorbing works of art that explore imaginative subjects.” -WAM
Down in the art vaults with artist & curatorial staff Heather Bal.
I selected this print by Frank Stella, one of my favorite artists using every print process in this one piece.
